This tenant organization provides formal and informal aircraft maintenance training for students from the 436th and 512th AW, Air Force Reserve Command, Air National Guard and Air Mobility Command enroute units. Detachment 3 offers 45 courses in its 22 classroom training facility and utilizes C-5 maintenance trainers and equipment valued at more than $18.6 million. The formal training courses include Airplane General 3-Level Air Force Specialty Code awarding and APG advanced systems training, advanced systems training for Air Ground Equipment, Instruments and Flight Controls, Communications and Navigation, Electrical and Environmental, Hydraulics, and Propulsion Systems. The detachment also supports training sessions to aircrews. The 27 highly qualified instructors graduate over 900 students each year, compiling more than 21,000 hours of classroom, flightline, and support shop instruction.
